Fashion Confession Re: Thierry Mugler

I've always loved Thierry Mugler + I think Nicola Formichetti is an extremely talented designer, BUT their parisian fashion show for Fall/Winter 2011 reminds me of childbirth. 

Shhhh... Don't say I said so.

 I went to see the movie The Rite this past weekend; it's amazing. Anthony Hopkins delivered yet again. If you're not afraid of the idea of demons + exorcisms, this is a must see.

In the 50s through to the early 60s, Ray Pantin Studios produced hundreds of black + white commercials for television. These photos [some of which you may look familiar to you] are a few of the animation art they produced during that time.

Somehow, they make me feel safe. I Love 'em.

 

My Spring Inspiration

John Galliano

I love the androgyny of this John Galliano look + we all know how key a great trench is to any spring wardrobe. 

I've begun the review of my closet in preparation for spring 2011. Ambitious, I know - considering the mountains of snow just outside my front door here in NYC. Either way planning my spring wardrobe makes me feel better.

Tonight, it was refreshing to take a class in the art of silent seduction with Annie Hall. For 98% of the movie she hid her body beneath layers of fabric + wore menswear with an unpretentious, effortless chic.
