Upon walking into the Jason Wu fashion show, we already know the experience we were in for. The gathering of cut-out vintage-framed mirrors made into the runway was a genius translation of what we later found out to be Wu's inspiration; the photos from Robert Polidori's book, Parcours Museologique Revister, on the restoration of Versailles.
As the collection came down the runway, immediately we could see the continuity from season's past. It felt more like the maturation of the Wu woman. The pieces were meticulously tailored and extremely wearable. Exactly what we expected.
With sleek hair + dramatic eyes, Wu further accessorized his collection with black laced headpieces, platform pumps [heels dipped in gold], rich colored leather bags + evening clutches and round-frame sunglasses. Done.
It is also always so refreshing to see a designer have a slight [if not, full on] departure from Fall's typical boring monochromatic black.
